..Sachin Tendulkar’s record of10000 runs in tests is broken again by Joe Root..
India’s Sachin Tendulkar ranks at N0.2 in the list. He scored 10000 runs in tests when he was 31 years, 10 months and 20 days old.
Cook retired from the test cricket at the age of 33 unlike Sachin. Tendulkar ended his career after scoring 15921 runs in 200 test matches.
Now it is interesting to watch if Joe Root will be able to go beyond Sachin. Currently Joe Root is 30 years old and plays key role as a test batsman. He has played a total of 118 tests.
Root acheived the mark after scoring a match winning hundred against New Zealand in openning test match. He remained not out on 115.
This was a stress releiving performance both from Root and England team, as they were out of touch in tests. They lost Ashes by 0-4, under skipper Joe Root.
Owing to the bad performance in tests, Root stepped down as England’s red ball captain. Ben Stokes is now the new test captain of England.
