Babar’s Class and Khushdil’s finish lead Pakistan home by 5 wickets– In the opening match between Pakistan and West Indies, Babar’s ton and Khushdil’s finish lead Pakistan to win the match by 5 wickets.
West Indies are on a tour to Pakistan to play three ODI matches against the hosts. The series was earlier rescheduled in 2021 due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Cricket returns to Multan after 14 years
The first ODI match played between Pakistan and West Indies on 8 June 2022 ended 14 year wait of Multan. After a gap of 14 years international match was played in Multan’s ground and ended well for Pakistan.
Fans at the Multan stadium enjoyed the impressive batting from Windies, class of Babar and in the end a match winning finish from Khushdil Shah.
West Indies batting-Ist Innings
Winning the toss and batting first, West Indies put a decent total of 305/8 on the scoreboard. Opener batsman Shai Hope played a super knock of 127 runs from 134 balls. He hit 15 boundaries and a six in his hundred.
Shamrah Brooks made 70 runs of 83 balls with seven 4’s. Rovman Powell and Romaria Shepherd played a quick cameo of 32(23 balls) and 25(18 balls) respectively.
From bowling side Shaheen took 2 wickets, Rauf took 4 and both Nawaz and Shadab take a wicket each.
Pakistan’s reply-Second Innings
Coming to a chase of 305 runs, Pakistan’s left hand bat Fahar Zaman was dismissed early on 11 runs. His partner Imam-ul- Haq then made a 103 runs stand with skipper Babar Azam. Imam was out on 65(71balls).
Again like a solid wall Babar made another 108 runs partnership with Mohammad Rizwan. Babar added yet anathor hundred to his belt making 103 runs from 107 balls.
Mohammd Rizwan also made a half- century scoring 59 runs from 61 balls. Finally, it was Khushdil Shah who was destructive in the end. He hit four sixes and a four in his 41* runs from 23 with a strike rate of 178.26.
Pakistan acheived the target of 306 runs in final over with 3 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.
